My first BIRCHBOX

18:14

As i was leaving for work this morning, I locked the door and as i turned around; something caught the corner of my eye. It was pink and it was on top of our bin. I then realised it was only MY FIRST BIRCHBOX! How exciting! I grabbed it and carried on to my car. I didn't have time to open it before i got to work so the anticipation built up inside me through out the day! I was so impatient i couldn't  wait till i got home again before opening it so the contents ended up spilling out as i lifted the inner box out of the postage box!

My First Impressions

The box is ALOT smaller than i thought it was going to be, but its very pretty non the less and for £10 a month its such a great way of trying out new brands and products you wouldn't necessarily buy normally.

How Pretty is the packaging BTW

There are 5 products in the box and I think that is the average amount you get in your box every month. They are all fairly generous sample sizes and I think you can sometimes receive full sizes when Birchbox is feeling like you deserve a treat.

The first product that stood out for me was the OCC Lip Tar Primer. I have wanted to try this brand for soooo long as I see makeup fanatics using it all the time. So even though this product isn't an actual lip colour I am looking forward to trying the primer and seeing if it actually makes a difference to how long my usual lip colour lasts. I also suffer from quite dry lips, especially in the winter months so it will be good to see if it helps keep my lips hydrated throughout the day.

NUXE! This is such a lovely luxurious brand and this product smells like flowers (it reminds me of my grannies garden) Again this is a brand that a lot of bloggers/vloggers rave about so I'm sure ill love this product. I have actually tried a Nuxe lip balm before and i didn't actually like the texture of it so that was a bit disappointing, but i will see how i find this anti-fatigue mouisturising cream from their Crème Prodigieuse® range.

This next product is so pretty! When I took the product out of its little box my eyes lit up! It looks like bubbly champagne in a tube! I am so excited to try this Darphin Illuminating Oil Serum.
Whenever I see that something is paraben free, it makes me more than happy to try the product as my skin is very sensitive so I am careful what sort of things I use on it. I think this serum is going to be super hydrating which is just what I need right now!

The last potion in the box is by Marcelle, a brand that I have not actually heard of before. One of the reasons I subscribed to Birchbox was to discover new brands so it'll be interesting to see what their Golden Glow BB cream is like. Im not a huge fan of BB creams as when it comes to makeup, I prefer quite a good coverage and I don't feel like BB creams give you that. But this product would probably be good for a lazy day where I don't want to wear much makeup or for a holiday just to give a nice glow.

And finally, a hair brush from Wet brush. I wasnt that excited about a hair brush but then I thought its quite a good size for your handbag and I can't remember that last time I actually bought a new hair brush!! So its actually quite a useful thing to have been sent. I don't really have much to say about this to be honest with you. It feels nice to hold...

Overall

So far I am loving Birchbox and cannot wait for my December box to come! If you are into your beauty products and love trying new things I would 100% recommend subscribing to Birchbox.
