January Birchbox '17

I always get super excited when I receive my monthly Birchbox. It's a great way to try new products and discover new brands. I especially love the packing of the January box and I am so glad they went back to the drawer style as they stack up so nicely on my dressing table. The lemon yellow is so refreshing for January and makes it feel like summer has come early.

The first product that stood out for me was the Soigné box. I actually thought this was going to be perfume at first as the box didn't have a lot of information on it so I was a little disappointed when I discovered that it was a nail polish. And for the colour, I don't normally do blue polish but I actually quite like this shade of blue. It's more of a turquoise blue so I think i'm going to love this on my toes in the summer with a tan *hopefully*. I think Soigné as a brand is going to be huge. The packaging is so chique and luxurious. If you haven't already, go check out their website, it's serious eye-porn.

The next thing that I am quite intrigued to try is the shave cream. This is by a brand called Wish. Shave cream isn't something that I normally use as I rarely shave now, I'm more into waxing.  I'm not overly fond of the packaging of this product, I think it looks cheap and a bit gaudy but non-the-less I am still willing to give this one a try.

Lord & Berry is a brand that I have seen about many of times but have never actually tried. I've never tried a concealer in this form before either, I always go for the liquid sorts as I think they blend better. But I am super excited to try this one in the Crayon style, I just hope it gives a good coverage and is blend-able.

The second full size product in this months Birchbox is a hand cream from Merci Handy. This is a french brand that uses super cool modern packaging and scents. This hand cream smells amazing and is a really nice texture which doesn't leave a greasy feel on your hands. It's quite nice to see some refreshing, colourful packaging as a lot of brands now go for the more elegant, chique look but it's good to have a bit of colour and pattern in your handbag too.

The last product in the box is a mini of a good favourite. It's the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Body Oil which you might have seen my write about before. This is a fab product with multi-uses for your hair, face and body. It adds moisture without being greasy, it absorbs into the skin really nicely and smells rich. If gold had a scent, this would be it. This is such a good size for traveling or just to pop in your handbag when you're on the move. I am gutted though that I didn't get sent the shimmer version of this as I have mentioned before I so want to try it, I love a bit of shimmer and I think I would love it as a product. Maybe I'll just have to treat myself.

Overall I am loving this months Birchbox, I think the vibrant packaging definitely helps though. I 100% recommend signing up to this beauty box subscription if you'd like to discover new brands and products, or if you just like a little treat to yourself every month.
